OVERVIEW

Inspiration for this one didn’t come easy. This was created for a client, but also someone very special to us. This was a super fun project as we had to keep multiple things in mind before going all in. The owner of this tank had never owned a planted aquarium and had absolutely no knowledge of how to maintain or care for one. Being said, our options were limited and we decided that a low light setup would be optimal for her. Low light setups can be just as amazing as high tech and much more complicated ones! We wanted to keep it as simple as possible but still add the pop of green. To combat the tank looking bare from lack of plants, low maintenance aquatic plant species were chosen and loaded into the tank so it was fully planted from the start. Fully planted tanks are advantageous in many ways and can provide safety for new fish, cycle the tank faster by soaking up any harmful elements, and looks better overall. Hardscape choices were inspired by the chaos of a jungle. We wanted the aquascape to have character and natural twists, so we almost haphazardly put it together - nothing could be TOO perfect or it would have ruined the look we were going for. Ryuoh Stone and wood branches were used for this layout.
