Shop mixed bucephalandra pre-attached to aquarium safe bonsai driftwood. Bucephalandra is a popular genus of plants in the aquarium hobby. Bucephalandra come in a wide variety of sizes and colors, and are well-known for being fairly adaptable in aquarium settings. Bucephalandra are epiphytic aroids and grow well when attached to aquarium hardscape. They may also be grown on substrate as long as the rhizome is not buried. As mentioned, Bucephalandra are very adaptable and will tolerate a wide range of lighting spectrums and aquarium conditions. This particular listing offers a hand-crafted Bonsai Tree with a mixture of small-leafed buce readily attached.
Bucephalandra are flexible and easy to care for. While it isn't required, we recommend providing Bucephalandra with CO2 injection to improve health and really bring out the iridescent colors Buce are known for. If kept in a tank without CO2, good maintenance habits will go a long way in preventing algae growth on leaves. Cooler water is preferable along with good flow as well. When ready for propagation, this plant's rhizome can be split and reattached elsewhere.

Aquarium plants can vary in growth form and may require time to transition to your aquarium environment, whether grown submerged or emersed. This transition period is a natural part of establishing healthy, long-term growth in planted aquariums.
From carpeting plants in the foreground to stem plants and larger species used in the midground or background, each plant offers a unique contribution to a balanced and natural aquascape. As plants adapt, it is normal to see minor changes such as leaf melt, color shifts, or new growth patterns as they settle into their new conditions.
We carefully inspect and prepare all live aquatic plants prior to shipping. While we do our best to minimize hitchhikers, we cannot guarantee plants to be completely pest or snail-free unless tissue culture options are selected.
Because live plants are perishable, some signs of transit stress may occur, including leaf loss or cosmetic damage. These are typically temporary and when when healthy roots are present, most plants will recover with proper care.

Rhizome plants are known for their durability and unique growth structure, making them a popular choice for both beginner and experienced aquascapers. Instead of being planted directly into the substrate, these plants grow from a horizontal rhizome that should be attached to hardscape such as driftwood or stone.
Burying the rhizome can lead to rot, so it is best to secure the plant using thread, glue, or by gently wedging it into place. Over time, the roots will naturally attach to the surface as the plant continues to grow and spread.
Rhizome plants are generally slow-growing and require minimal maintenance, making them ideal for low-tech aquariums. Their sturdy leaves and gradual growth provide long-term stability and are often used to create detailed focal points or anchor hardscape within a layout.
Common examples include Anubias, Bucephalandra, and Java Fern, all loved for their resilience and easy care.
Wedged Anubias Chili Jalapeno naturally rooted to hardscape after a year
Bucephalandra and Anubias self-attached to driftwood
Java Fern 'Trident Mini' wedged in between Malaysian Driftwood after 8 months of growth with CO2 injection

"Looks fantastic in my tank and is well made."
"Love this!!!! Really small but using for a small tank so perfect. Bucephalandra looked great even though it bounced around in the box during shipping. Re-glued a couple pieces."
"Unfortunately my order arrived smashed, Glass Aqua was fantastic in dealing with the issue and sent a replacement almost immediately. The tree is a good size and comes with more Buce than I was expecting. The buce was also extremely healthy upon arrival."
"Absolutely stunning!"
"Much smaller than expected, but got repurposed into a betta tank. Looks nice but pretty exoensive."
"Product came in and it was like the tree was cut in half. Honestly one of the worst looking bonsai trees I've ever seen. And i have ordered one from here before and it's seems like there was no consideration for the price of wood they used for the bonsai tree."
"It’s really cute. I ordered extra bucephalandra to tie onto the branches and fill it out. I wish it were a little more gnarley looking and less candelabra-like so it more resembled a bonsai, but either way it’s a nice little tree"
"I love this in my tank!! Tree arrived in perfect condition despite Wisconsin’s freezing weather. My fish loves it too"
"the plants itself lasted long. however the tree looked too artificial like a Menorah. So it did not mix with with the natural surrounding I had setup."
"Very nice"
