Perfect Plant
"It is a very good plant and easy to maintain. 100% recommended."
Bucephalandra Broad Wavy or Buce Broad Wavy is yet another a farm-grown variant of the extremely popular and classic aquarium plant, Bucephalandra Green Wavy. As its name implies, the characteristic ruffle-edged leaves are overall slightly larger than those seen on the original Bucephaandra Green Wavy. Coloration is similar and offers a bold green hue that provides lovely contrast to the midground of a planted aquarium tank. Form factor and overall size categorize this Buce species as a medium-sized aquarium plant that would work in the midground of a planted aquarium tank.
Like other Bucephalandra, Buce Broad Wavy is versatile with placement and will grow well when attached to aquarium hardscape such as aquascaping stones and aquarium driftwood. Bucephalandra prefers lower lighting, substantial flow and will grow nice and dense if favorable conditions are provided. While CO2 injection is not required, the use of it helps promote quicker growth and lovely coloration. The stem and rhizome should not be covered when planting and over-gluing of roots will be extremely detrimental to its growth and survival.

Aquarium plants can vary in growth form and may require time to transition to your aquarium environment, whether grown submerged or emersed. This transition period is a natural part of establishing healthy, long-term growth in planted aquariums.
From carpeting plants in the foreground to stem plants and larger species used in the midground or background, each plant offers a unique contribution to a balanced and natural aquascape. As plants adapt, it is normal to see minor changes such as leaf melt, color shifts, or new growth patterns as they settle into their new conditions.
We carefully inspect and prepare all live aquatic plants prior to shipping. While we do our best to minimize hitchhikers, we cannot guarantee plants to be completely pest or snail-free unless tissue culture options are selected.
Because live plants are perishable, some signs of transit stress may occur, including leaf loss or cosmetic damage. These are typically temporary and when when healthy roots are present, most plants will recover with proper care.

Rhizome plants are known for their durability and unique growth structure, making them a popular choice for both beginner and experienced aquascapers. Instead of being planted directly into the substrate, these plants grow from a horizontal rhizome that should be attached to hardscape such as driftwood or stone.
Burying the rhizome can lead to rot, so it is best to secure the plant using thread, glue, or by gently wedging it into place. Over time, the roots will naturally attach to the surface as the plant continues to grow and spread.
Rhizome plants are generally slow-growing and require minimal maintenance, making them ideal for low-tech aquariums. Their sturdy leaves and gradual growth provide long-term stability and are often used to create detailed focal points or anchor hardscape within a layout.
Common examples include Anubias, Bucephalandra, and Java Fern, all loved for their resilience and easy care.
Wedged Anubias Chili Jalapeno naturally rooted to hardscape after a year
Bucephalandra and Anubias self-attached to driftwood
Java Fern 'Trident Mini' wedged in between Malaysian Driftwood after 8 months of growth with CO2 injection
