Crystal Red Shrimp are one of the most popular dwarf shrimp varieties in the aquarium hobby. These freshwater aquarium shrimp are easy to spot thanks to their bold color and unique pattern. In a planted aquarium, they pop beautifully against live aquatic plants and are super fun to observe. They are not recommended for beginners and are considered more challenging to keep. Due to their specific water requirements and natural sensitivity to environmental shifts, crystal reds usually have dedicated setups. When successful, nurturing a colony is a highly rewarding experience!

These shrimp are considered soft water shrimp and need slightly acidic conditions, extremely low TDS levels, and stable temperatures between 68–75°F. Provide gentle flow and ensure regular water changes to keep the tank clean. CRS will happily graze and forage, but also appreciate a varied diet whenever possible.

Tank size recommendation: 5-10G

Shrimp are extremely sensitive to copper. If using tap, be sure to use a dechlorinator to ensure safety for your invertebrates.
CRS shrimp are peaceful. Keep them in an aquarium with non-agressive tank mates to ensure their safety.

Orders are typically processed within 1-2 business days M-F. However, additional time may be required during peak seasons and federal holidays. For orders containing live plants, we exercise extra caution and assess factors such as travel distance and weather to ensure safe transit.

If you are not satisfied with your purchase, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery. Approved returns must be shipped back within 14 days of approval.
