Echinodorus Red Rubin is a beautiful hybrid of Echinodorus Horemanii Red and Echinodorus Barthii. This aquarium plant offers bold coloration and is suitable as a focal point or centerpiece aquarium plant in larger planted aquarium tanks. Echinodorus Red Rubin also exhibits horizontal growth if the lighting is strong enough and can grow quite wide. This should be kept in mind when deciding on placement.
New growth displays a green tone and later matures into deep, bold red hues provided that optimal conditions and care are met. This aquatic sword plant is on the larger spectrum of the Echinodorus family and is suitable for planted aquarium tanks with ample space for it to spread its leaves. Like all aquatic sword species, Echinodorus Red Rubin is easy to keep, fairly hardy and needs a minimum of a nutrient-rich aquarium substrate as these species of aquatic plants are heavy root feeders. Aside from this, Echinodorus species are fairly tolerable of varying water parameters and lighting conditions. Given that this aquatic sword grows fairly large and robust, pruning periodically will be required to ensure smaller aquatic plants are not shaded from the light provided.
