Hydrocotyle Tripartita AKA Hydrocotyle Japan earned its bragging rights through frequent usage by arguably the most famous aquascaper, Takashi Amano. Characterized by clover-like leaves with bright green coloration, Hydrocotyle Tripartita looks best when grown in compact bushes. If aquarium tank lighting is too weak, it has the tendency to grow leggy and will be sparse as the aquatic plant will be reaching for light sources. Hydrocotyle Tripartita is highly versatile and can be used almost anywhere within the aquarium tank. This aquatic plant is very forgiving and grows quickly when planted under proper conditions. Optimal care would include quality aquarium LED lighting, nutritious aquarium soil, CO2 injection and an optional dosing routine of premium aquatic plant fertilizer. If kept in an optimal aquarium tank, Hydrocotyle Tripartita will grow quickly and can easily take over a planted aquarium tank if frequent trimming isn't performed. With consistent trims, high light and use of CO2, this aquatic plant will stay low growing and will create beautiful bushes of green throughout the planted aquarium.

Propagation can be performed by trimming stems and replanting or pulling apart dense clumps and splitting the roots. New shoots can be trimmed anywhere along the stem thus allowing the plant to grow thicker and more compact.
