Add flowing greenery to your planted aquarium with Pogostemon Stellatus 'Octopus'. This fast-growing aquatic stem plant features long, bright green leaves that sprout along the central stem. Its loose, flowing growth creates soft, bushy groups of foliage that add organic movement and texture to the midground or background of an aquascape.

Pogostemon Stellatus 'Octopus' is a more forgiving species within the genus family, making it an approachable choice for hobbyists who enjoy its delicate, feathery appearance.

Botanical Note: Commonly sold as Pogostemon stellatus 'Octopus', this plant is now correctly identified as Pogostemon quadrifolius. The original trade name remains widely used and accepted in the aquarium hobby.

About Our Live Aquatic Plants

Aquarium plants can vary in growth form and may require time to transition to your aquarium environment, whether grown submerged or emersed. This transition period is a natural part of establishing healthy, long-term growth in planted aquariums.

From carpeting plants in the foreground to stem plants and larger species used in the midground or background, each plant offers a unique contribution to a balanced and natural aquascape. As plants adapt, it is normal to see minor changes such as leaf melt, color shifts, or new growth patterns as they settle into their new conditions.

We carefully inspect and prepare all live aquatic plants prior to shipping. While we do our best to minimize hitchhikers, we cannot guarantee plants to be completely pest or snail-free unless tissue culture options are selected.

Because live plants are perishable, some signs of transit stress may occur, including leaf loss or cosmetic damage. These are typically temporary and when when healthy roots are present, most plants will recover with proper care.

About Our Tissue Culture Plants

Tissue culture aquarium plants are grown in sterile, laboratory conditions, ensuring they are free from pests, algae, and snails. These young plants are cultivated in nutrient-rich gel and are grown in emersed form before being introduced into the aquarium.

Tissue culture plants are best for aquascapers looking for clean, controlled plant material, especially for shrimp tanks or sensitive setups. Before planting, the gel media should be gently removed, and the plant can be divided into smaller portions for planting.

With proper care, tissue culture plants transition quickly and establish into healthy submerged growth.

Beautiful!!

"May look a bit rough out of the mail but mine perked up very quickly, shed a few leaves and is now growing perfectly! Growing fine in a low tech set up without co2. In fact I have already had to trim them and have re planted the trimmings in a different tank. The trimmings are growing great too!!"

— Robert K. (5/5)

Really impressed with Glass Aqua.

"Really impressed with Glass Aqua. It is my first attempt into a planted aquarium and it was a pleasure dealing with Glass Aqua. The description for each plant is spot on, the rock selection that arrived was perfect and the shipping was quick and painless! I purchased 3 different plants along with the rock and some moss and am truly satisfied with the quality of the plans and quality of the shipment packaging. Can’t wait to buy from them again!! You won’t be sorry!"
