This variety of Red Ogo, commonly known as Red Spaghetti Ogo, gets its name from its resemblance to other ogo seaweed variations. True to its name, Red Spaghetti Ogo (Gracilaria Pacifica) features a deep red-brown hue and a stringy growth pattern. Its texture allows it to form dense mats that are capable of absorbing excess nutrients, supporting a more balanced ecosystem. Relatively easygoing, Red Ogo isn't difficult to grow and will require intermittent harvesting. Harvested Gracilaria will be readily accepted by herbivores in the main aquarium.

Overall, Red Ogo Spaghetti Macroalgae is an excellent choice for saltwater refugiums, as it efficiently consumes excess nitrates and phosphates.
