Vesicularia Dubyana, more commonly known as Java Moss is one of the most popular aquatic mosses around. An essential in the planted tank hobby, this aquarium moss is versatile, extremely hardy, and will tolerate a wide range of aquarium conditions. This bulletproof nature makes it a great choice for beginner aquarists or aquarium hobbyists looking to try their hands at live aquarium plants. Java Moss can be used for a range of purposes such as providing shade and coverage to shrimplets and nano tropical fish. Java Moss is also commonly used to cover small stones for accents in the foreground of a planted aquarium. Aquarium mosses make great makeshift foliage for bonsai driftwood to produce underwater tree aquascapes and more. The addition of CO2 injection and higher lighting will encourage faster and more robust growth. Once established, Java Moss may need routine maintenance to prevent it from overtaking the aquarium. We recommend pulling or removing manually. If using aquascaping tools, try turning off the filter as aquarium moss will grow anywhere it lands!
Approximate size per small portion is golfball while large portion is softball.
