Elatine Hydropiper Tissue Culture
Tissue culture plants are cultivated in sterile lab settings ensuring your plant is free from pests, snails and algae! These are young specimen that are grown in emersed forms. Gel should always be removed prior to planting.
Live plants are susceptible to stress and damage from transit. - This may appear in the form of minimal melt, leaf loss, cosmetic damage, etc. Refunds or replacements will not be issued for plants with viable root systems or that die out of our care.
Elatine Hydropiper is another popular aquatic plant that is commonly used as a foreground carpeting aquatic plant. Loved for its tiny leaves, Elatine Hydropiper's size is comparable to Hemianthus Callitrichoides HC Cuba, but resembles a miniature Glossostigma Elatinoides. This aquatic plant has a lovely rich green hue and will readily form a carpet with relative ease so long as proper growing conditions within the planted aquarium tank are present. Almost perfect, Elatine Hydropiper's downside is its temperamental nature towards fluctuating temperatures. This aquatic plant does not grow well in planted aquarium tanks that are too warm and will suffer from sudden heat. If possible, the aquarium should be kept cool with the addition of CO2 injection and quality aquarium lighting. If successful, Elatine Hydropiper will carpet fairly quick and is generally undemanding. Its small size makes it a perfect choice for planted nano aquarium tanks. Similar to Glosso, Elatine Hydropiper will grow in an upwards fashion. To keep this aquatic plant growing lush and low, quality aquarium led lighting should be provided. Once established, regular pruning will be required!
When planting, small clumps should be placed half an inch apart from each other to help the plants grow together more quickly. CO2 addition and soft water will promote growth significantly.
