Guppies are active swimmers that spend much of their time near the upper levels of an aquarium. They may occasionally explore other areas of the tank, but are generally considered a top-level fish species. They are social fish and are best kept in groups whenever possible.

They are also capable jumpers, so we recommend a lid or adequate plant coverage such as floating aquatic plants. Guppies coexist well with other peaceful tank mates. Mature shrimp are generally safe, but they may consume shrimp fry if the aquarium lacks coverage.

Stocking Recommendations
As a practical guideline, we recommend a minimum group size of 4–6 guppies per 10 gallons of water. Avoid overcrowding, as this can increase stress and make maintaining water quality more difficult.

Feeding
Guppies are omnivores and readily accept quality pellets, flakes, frozen and live foods. Feed only what they can consume in a few minutes and remove excess. Avoid overfeeding to help maintain water quality.

Arrival & Acclimation
For best results, introduce new fish into a mature, cycled aquarium. Take extra time to float bags and match temperature before release. Once they are in the aquarium or quarantine tank, give them time to settle in and avoid making significant changes or moving them during this period.
