SL Aqua MORE Nature Aquarium Soil is a nutrient-rich, natural black aquasoil. The soil is sintered—a process where it is heated at a high temperature to create a strong bond, resulting in granules that are durable and won’t break down easily, yet remain porous enough to allow water and nutrients to pass through. It contains organic acids and essential nutrients that naturally lower pH and KH, creating ideal conditions for many live aquatic plants and tropical fish. MORE Nature aquasoil is easy to work with and can be used for many popular aquascaping styles. Use it to build sloped substrate hills for Iwagumi aquascapes or as a base layer for a colorful nature-style planted tank.
What's the difference between normal and powder aquarium soil?
Available in powder and medium granule sizes, its different grain options accommodate many popular plants. Fine powder substrate is great for small-rooted aquatic plants like Helianthus callitrichoides ‘Cuba’ (HC) or Eleocharis parvula ‘Mini’ (Dwarf Hair Grass), while the medium size works well for Cryptocoryne, Echinodorus, Rotala, Ludwigia, and more.
How much substrate do I need?
The general rule of thumb is one 3L bag per 5 gallons and one 8L bag per 10 gallons
[Tank Length x Tank Depth x Desired Substrate Height (inches)] / 60 = Total liters of Aquarium Soil required
