The Ultum Nature Systems Light Hanging Kit can be attached directly to the back/side of an aquarium cabinet stand or onto the wall.

The ability to adjust the amount of light over your aquarium is an overlooked necessity in the planted aquarium hobby. By providing the ability to raise or lower the fixture to the desired height, this aquarium light hanging kit allows the user to control the light intensity and coverage spread to suit specific needs.

If aquatic plants are receiving more light than they’re able to utilize for photosynthesis, algae develop and grow rapidly. The amount of light required for aquatic plant growth directly correlates to the amount of CO2 and fertilizers present in a planted aquarium. Having an overpowered light fixture on a tank with low CO2 and fertilization is a guaranteed recipe for algae. The additional light energy which plants are unable to use without the lacking nutrients will quickly be consumed by algae. By raising the light higher, algae growth will be reduced significantly or eradicated while still providing aquatic plants with adequate lighting to photosynthesize.

Unfortunately, we don't have the 60-inch version available at the moment. Has this product been discontinued by the manufacturer?: Hello and thanks for your interest! Yes, it has for the time being and has been replaced with the Ultum Nature Systems BAR Light Hanging Kit which does not require any drilling or additional tools to install.
Thanks for following up. I am more concerned about how far the bars are from back to front than the length side to side. For example, my tank is 24” deep. If the bars are 10”, they’re too short and my lights won’t be centered. Also, the length of the poles that attach to the stand are important because tank height can vary. I’m still looking for dimensions from back to front and bottom to top: The length of the front to back bars are 13". Don't worry, we've tested these to work :)
For the 48” version of this product, how long are the vertical bars as well as the horizontal ones that extend over the tank?: Hello! The horizontal bar is about 47". The vertical bars are adjustable to your liking, but we recommend hanging your light at least 18" above the rim of the tank. Hope this helps!
