Natural Cholla Wood – Versatile Decor for Aquariums, Terrariums, and Reptile Tanks
Natural Cholla Wood is an excellent addition to aquariums, terrariums, and reptile tank enclosures. Each piece of this unique driftwood features a hollow core and plenty of holes, creating ideal hiding spots and shelter for small animals such as freshwater shrimp and fry. In reptile tanks, these pieces are commonly used for reptile perches. Beyond its structural appeal, cholla wood serves functional purposes—in aquariums, it encourages the growth of biofilm, a valuable food source for freshwater shrimp, snails and other bottom dwellers. Cholla will also gradually releases beneficial tannins into the water, similar to Indian almond leaves, which can help lower pH and soften water conditions.
Cholla wood is equally popular as a plant holder—typically used for Tillandsia (air plants) and other decorative setups. Compared to standard straight-cut pieces, these cholla driftwood trees provide more vertical structure and branching, making them an ideal focal point.
Measurement Range: Provided measurements are rough estimates. Cholla driftwood is 100% natural, so dimensions may vary by a few inches. Please use them as general guidelines.
