Pacific Wood is a natural driftwood with a texture and color similar to Malaysian Dritwood and is one of the easiest hardscapes to work with. Its deep color and characterisitc grooves are perfect or attaching epiphytic aquatic plants like Anubias, Buce, aquatic ferns and mosses. It's available in many sizes and is one of our favorites to use when aquascaping, especially in nano tanks. Pacific Wood also has a smoother texture than sharper woods, making it a safer choice for delicate-finned fish like Betta splendens.
Like all aquarium driftwood, it will likely float if you don't make sure its waterlogged before using. However, Pacific Wood is denser than many other types, reducing the time needed to sink, making it a great option for impatient aquascapers or last minute aquascape projects. Overall, this natural wood is a solid, versatile layout material that remains a team favorite.
