"I waited 2 weeks to add this review. Set up took 5 minutes or less. Easy to install and understand. Turns on every 30minutes and has 2 settings on the M5 version. Doesn’t bother the fish at all. I have been struggling with a little bit of green spot algae (GSA) on a 10gallon tank with a Fluval 3.0 light, CO2. My plants are Monte Carlo, Java Fern, Cabomba, Ludwigia Super Red, and Ludwigia Palustris. My red plants were struggling to be red even with proper nutrients because my lower plants had GSA. My Monte Carlo had it and my Seiryu rocks had it. 2 weeks after issuing this it all went away. Plants are extremely full and red. They have grown tremendously! The M5 is even smaller in size than I thought. Spend the money and get it!!! No more GSA! I tried everything in my canister filter, I ran it with purigen, Chemi Pure Elite, but it didn’t do the trick although it helped and I still use them. The Algae inhibitor worked! I won’t run a CO2 tank without it! Easy to turn off during water changes, honestly no cons to this product. Get one!"
"This is a cool little gadget for the aquarium. I don’t know what is the effect but it sure is interesting to watch spew the volcanic mist around. It would be cool if someone put it inside of a volcano. It adds a special touch to my jungle setup."

"Product is simple to install and has minimal visual impact no the tank. Did some research on if this unit inhibits establishment of beneficial nitrification bacteria and manufacturer's website says it does not inhibit growth of aerobic bacteria."
"It's only been two weeks since I've had this and it seems to be helping. I have a shallow tank with a stronger light (I'm unable to hang it) so algae was a bit of a problem. One suggestion was to turn it sideways to minimize the amount of bubbles trapped under it and slow any calcium build-up. A word of advice - do not let your cat drink out of the tank while the thing is active. It will give them a quick zap!"
"I am encouraged that in week three, plants are growing and not wiped out by algae(as unfortunately happened with my first attempt at a planted tank). I have needed to do water changes, as after 2 weeks there was some algae on the rocks and a little bit on plants, but since I cleaned it out and continuing water changes, plants are growing!"
