The Ultum Nature Systems Shallow Reef System is a solid reef-ready foundation. Modeled after the original line, these rimless aquariums feature the same signature features, now in a shallow tank format for your creative saltwater aquarium ideas. Each system includes an aluminum-framed stand with an integrated sump filter. The stand features removable, magnetic doors for easy access, maintenance and organization. Enjoy features like pre-cut wire management holes and, in most models, convenient pull-out drawers for extra storage and quick access to the items you use most. Larger models (R90 and up) feature a built-in controller box for surge protection and cable management, with a bottom section for a chiller and a viewing window. Removable controller boards are accessible through a side door, keeping wires secure and neat. Each detail has been carefully considered to produce both a functional and aesthetic base for your next reef aquarium.

All UNS Reef Systems come fully assembled—position the tank, connect pre-glued pipes, and secure with twist-on unions. The system includes gate valves for smooth water flow and reduced noise, along with a ball valve and barbed fittings on the return line to host external equipment like reactors or chillers. A gasket beneath the drain pipe and sump helps minimize salt creep. The multi-chamber sump includes a pre-filter baffle to trap larger solids on filter floss, reducing the need for frequent filter sock changes, while diffuser plates reduce noise and prevent floating socks during maintenance. The second chamber is adjustable to fit most protein skimmers, with an acrylic baffle allowing for water level adjustments. The third chamber offers flexibility for additional media or use as a refugium, with adjustable water levels. An acrylic ATO with a pre-installed float valve ensures seamless automatic top-offs.
