Changing Seasons

Changing Seasons is a nature-style aquascape featuring Manzanita Driftwood and colorful aquatic stem plants in the Ultum Nature Systems 5N nano tank. This small aquarium was designed to add a nature display to a living room space.

Instead of classic green slopes, the layout aims to reflect changing seasons by incorporating a mix of green, orange, pink and red aquarium plants. Each species was intentionally organized into foreground, midground, and background zones. Leaf shape, growth habit (bushy, wispy, or flowing), and color balance were considered to ensure each species complements the others and transitions gently without overpowering the layout.

Hardscape consists of four individual Manzanita wood twigs, which were pre-boiled and soaked to prevent floating and reduce tannin release. All species used in this aquascape were tissue culture plants, ensuring a snail and algae-free start.
