Autumn Springs is a nature-style nano planted tank in the UNS 5N rimless aquarium. It is also the third and final installment in our homage series to an old-school Glass Aqua scape, Changing Seasons. Following Redux, this nano aquascape carries over many of the same aquatic plants, harvested and replanted from the previous two tanks while maintaining similar design principles.

The biggest change is the hardscape, shifting from Spider Wood to Pacific Wood. The foreground carpeting plant was swapped for Marsilea, to slow growth rate and reduce maintenance. All of the epiphytes (Anubias and Buce) were relocated and reattached.

Even with close similarities to earlier versions, these small adjustments gave the tank a needed refresh. If you’re looking to shift the feeling of your space, you don’t always need to start from scratch. Revisit what you already have, move pieces around, and you might be surprised by how many different results can be achieved using the same materials.
