Deep Forest Roots
Deep Forest Roots is a low maintenance betta fish tank. Created for a beginner, this aquascape featured Manzanita Wood and a variety of beginner-friendly aquarium plants. With the tank’s compact size, using a single piece of wood to form a full tree structure wasn’t practical. Instead, the design focused on the “root system”, reinterpreting the concept in a way better suited for the tank’s size.
Three Manzanita Wood twigs were pre-boiled and positioned upside down to create the roots. Low maintenance aquatic plants like Anubias Nana Petite, Mini Bolbitis and Java Fern were added to fill in the gaps and soften the look. The completed aquascape covers form and function. The layered roots and dense planting created shade and coverage for the Betta Fish, while offering a simple look that anyone would enjoy.
