Hatchling Hill
Hatchling Hill is one of the smallest Iwagumi aquascapes we've ever scaped! Created in the Ultum Nature Systems 16S shallow aquarium, a few pieces of Dragon (Ohko) Stone were arranged to form a simple Iwagumi layout in the less than 1 gallon space footprint.
Classic aquatic plant species were paired with the hardscape to introduce texture and a pop of green against Dragon Stone's warmer palette. The foreground was kept as costmetic sand, allowing for easier maintenance and a clean, open appearance. The shallow format of the 16S is tiny, but poses a ful challenge for creating unique planted displays!
