Ranchu Reef is a unique take on the Ultum Nature Systems R60 Reef System—reimagined as a Ranchu goldfish aquarium. While the R60 is designed for reef setups, its ultra-clear glass, 45° mitered edges, and built-in sump make it equally well-suited for freshwater applications. The integrated filtration system helps maintain pristine water quality, something very important with Goldfish care.

We kept the aquascape simple with a Hakkai Stone layout, paired with a hardy Anubias plant chosen for its ability to withstand curious goldfish nibbling. A bare-bottom design was used to prioritize cleanliness and ease of maintenance, making routine care straightforward and efficient. The result is a clean, functional Ranchu setup that blends reef-level filtration with a minimalist freshwater approach—proof that great systems can be more versatile than expected.
