The Ultimate Rimless Glass Aquarium Tank

Ultum Nature Systems was the first brand to produce rimless aquariums using ultra high clarity low iron glass with a very unique feature - the 45 degree mitered edge. Unlike traditional rimless aquariums, where all 5 panels of glass are cut with a flat edge then bonded together with clear silicone, the Ultum Nature Systems aquariums take it to the next level.

The mitered edge used by UNS on 4 glass panels allows for a much more seamless joint and requires less silicone to form the corners of an aquarium. This means that not only are the corner edges much cooler to look at, the silicone can be much more precise and cleaned up nicer, which means no globs of leftover dried silicone. A secondary benefit to this is that because the silicone is now angled unlike their flat edged 90 degree counterparts, aquarium maintenance tools such as an algae scraper can clean up against each corner without the worry of accidentally cutting into and degrading the silicone seam overtime, which could lead to potential tank leakage.

The minimal usage of silicone provides a cleaner look while the holding strength is just as strong as traditional silicone seamed corners.

A nano aquarium is typically defined as any tank under 10 gallons. They’re perfect for Betta fish, small groups of schooling fish, neocaridina shrimp, and ornamental snails. These are small aquariums that don’t require a lot of space, making them ideal for desktops, apartments, or anyone looking to create an aquascape with limited space.

Why Choose a Nano Tank?

Nano tanks are often easier to set up, start, and maintain—making them a great entry point into the hobby. Their compact size means everything else needed scales down too: filters, substrate, hardscape, aquatic plants. Smaller tank, smaller tab. That alone gives nanos a unique edge. If you've ever been curious about planted tanks, a nano setup is a low-commitment way to get started without feeling overwhelmed. But, don't let the size fool you! A properly maintained nano aquascape can be just as impressive as a larger 20 or 30-gallon planted aquarium. The learning curve (and the risk) is simply more comfortable.

Nano tanks are also perfect for apartments, desktops, and tight spots where larger sizes just aren't practical. They give you the flexibility to experiment, tweak, and create dynamic scapes all the same. Ultum Nature Systems (UNS) rimless nano aquariums are recognized as a leading choice! Crafted with low-iron, ultra-clear glass, they offer crystal-clear visibility and make awesome first aquariums or solid additions to existing collections.

What Type of Fish Can I Keep in a Nano Aquarium?
