Tidal is an Iwagumi aquascape in the ADA 60P rimless aquarium. Created as a tribute to one of Glass Aqua’s earliest planted aquariums from nearly two decades ago, this layout revisits those original ideas through a more contemporary lens using techniques and plant choices that have evolved alongside the hobby.

Featuring classic Seiryu Stone, Tidal borrows many of the core principles of traditional Iwagumi aquascaping without strictly adhering to the rules of the style. Large, medium, and small stones are carefully grouped from right to left to establish a balanced triangular composition, creating organic movement throughout the aquarium.

Where Tidal begins to depart from tradition is with two sweeping sand pathways that separate the stone groupings and guide the eye deeper into the layout. A vibrant collection of aquatic stem plants inspired by modern Brazilian-style aquascaping blends the structure and restraint of Iwagumi with the color, density, and complexity of modern planted aquarium design.
