Iron Root is a driftwood-focused planted aquarium for a Betta Fish in the Ultum Nature Systems 5T rimless tank. The hardscape layout features carefully selected pieces of Malaysian Driftwood, chosen for their natural bends and curves. Each piece was layered to create subtle wave-like forms in this 6-gallon nano tank.

The result is a delicate composition that balances shadow and light, forming a quiet yin-yang in this small aquarium. This aquascape shows how complexity and depth can be achieved even in a nano footprint. Beyond its sculptural appeal, the arrangement creates an abundance of natural spaces that provide coverage, security, and enrichment for our Betta, Frandon. Once finalized, aquatic plant choice was kept intentionally minimal. Each species planted in this layout is suited for low-tech tank conditions, adding just the right amount of greenery while allowing the driftwood to remain the primary focal point of the planted aquarium.
